Our mandate is to empower young women with the right tools to lead the way into the future. We challenge their minds, develop their confidence, polish their poise, and enhance their personality. They learn the meaning of success.

                                                          FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN

Miss T&T New York is no ordinary pageant. It is an extraordinary effort, an essential and unique non-profit organization for the personal development and advancement of young minority women, Caribbean and Caribbean-American, of Trinidad & Tobago heritage. Since our inception in 1997, this highly respected scholarship program continues to receive great distinction and rave reviews from the people and the press.

A COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE

Our program has been enshrined on an international consciousness. We have received screaming newspaper headlines which attest to our dexterity, determination and dynamism. We continue to shock the New York community with our creativity, professionalism, and penchant for excellence.

We have been on the forefront as a leadership program for young women of color. Ours is a revolutionary new attitude as we attempt to redefine the thinking behind pageants. We are bold, bright, and beautiful. We believe brilliance is just as important as beauty. 

THE IMPORTANCE OF SCHOLARSHIP

Ours is an educational experience. We stress scholarship! The summer months spent together are dedicated to making these young women aware of themselves as leaders in the community and as trustees of the common good. When you educate a woman, you educate a generation.

                                                                                BECOMING A LEADER

Becoming a leader takes practice. During the course of an intense summer training program, they gain experience while interacting with the community through various public appearances where they are able to address public figures, politicians, and celebrities, one-on-one. We arrange conscience-raising sessions with experts in various fields; challenging them to think about their lives and set definite goals. Decision making is critical to life. Participants engage in leadership roles and begin to understand the real meaning of responsibility.

TO DREAM THE DREAM 

We encourage participants to dream. The imagination is powerful. It is the imagination, the power to create and recreate, that we use throughout our lives. The promise of the human mind is that it can always imagine new ways of being and becoming. If you can imagine it: you can be it! And that is what we instill in participants.

On the night of the show, they affirm a multitude of nurtured strengths, talents, capabilities. The transformation is absolutely amazing. Family and friends sit in awe wondering if such critical change is indeed possible. And it is! Working with these young women, at Miss T&T New York, we have discovered that sometimes all people need to know is that someone cares. That alone is encouragement to conquer the world.
